I know this is molesting the old 'memorable moments' topic, but darn that, it's too much fun reading how insane lords like frab were once just like us!
Definitely my most memorable moment was my first play through. It was in an area south of Beregost, and my low level party stumbled across a band of hobgoblins. I paused, but not before an elite managed to fire off an arrow. I caught the graphic of the arrow in mid-flight, about to smack right into my PC. It was black, with a red tail, and I remember thinking "oh man, that arrow is going to hurt".
I sat there for half an hour, not daring to unpause. But then I hoped it would miss, and tapped space bar. Boom, one shot kill, game over
Another one was when I massacred Beregost, and wondered why strange men in purple bubbles were attacking me.
And I'm sure we've all been killed by wolves that so much as sneeze at us.

I was in the Firewine Tunnels/Basement, and my party kept getting mutilated by kobold commandos and their fire arrows. And because they respawn pretty quickly and I was mid-way through, I couldn't get out without getting killed. I was so pissed off, I uninstalled the game. That was back when I was new to the game and to DnD combat system in general.
I was dealing with the spider's in Landrin's house in Beregost, not so confident that I was experienced enough to deal with them. But then I decided to use entangle and had everyone switch to ranged weapons. I killed all of them without being hit once and I was all excited.
I was dealing with Slythe and Krystin in the undercellars. And I decided to experiment with the haste spell for the first time. I had Dynaheir cast it on Minsc and, to my surprise, it affected my whole party. My jaw dropped as those assassins practically dropped like flies. I immediately went to my spell book and filled all of my L3 spell slots with haste.
I was exploring the cellars of Candlekeep with Imoen, detecting traps. There was one particular fatal electric trap that I just couldn't detect, even after about 3 tries. Finally, I gave in and sent Minsc in there (w/ boots of grounding) to absorb the damage. It was memorable because it reminded me of a particular scene from the movie, "The Gamers"Edited By Makatak on 11/12/09 21:20 |

Oh god, first run against the High Hedge Golems? Heh, let's just say... ehh... massacre? Or that other time in the Nashkel mines. Went from level 3 to 4, as an arrow trap hit my main PC. Killed, but in the same moment, the loading for the next area appeared and at the end of the loading? I could continue with my main PC dead! Don't know if this is a bug or something, all I know is that it was some 9 years ago, and I can't find a way to do it again. |

Having promised that I would try to save Saverok's life, I thought that I would use fists on him in the hope that he might plead for mercy as some of the bad guys do. I baskstabbed him with my fists and killed him!! Not supposed to be able to do that!! Fun though. That was in my solo non-violent fighter/thief game where only six of the enemy were killed, and I only killed only Saverok. |

Epic, really. Super-duper armored guy gets killed by a non violent backstab. I will call him now a sissy. Because just a sissy dies of punches in Baldur's Gate (apart from monk fists of course). _________________ You REALLY want to buy Dragon Age Origins. Seriously. Do it. |
