Are there any creatures that have an inherent weakness to lightning, or electrical attacks? |

Don't think they have anything in the game that is weak to lightning.
If you go with the elemental view, It would be anything that is based on water.
And if you think logically, Anything that is a machine.
But in Baldur's gate? No, Not that i can think of. You can still use it to damage casters with protection up, or to interrupt them. But you can do that with fire, Acid, Cold etc etc. So no, Lightning dosn't bring anything special to the table in this game. |

There are at least 2 advantages: As a 4th level spell it will penetrate MINOR Globe of Invul., so you can hit a mage surrounded by a gleaming sphere, on who fire, ice, sleep, etc., have no effect.
Also a lightning rod combined with Breach is a good way to attack dragons like Firkraag, and about the only reason I can think of put up with Aerie's whining |

Lightning is level 3 spell, And does not penetrate minor globe. Though chain lightning as a level 6 spell will. There are higher level fire spells, that will also penetrate it, Same with ice. |

One. Or, to be precise, 1/4 of a creature. The ooze form of the Chromatic Demon
Which actually is not a weakness per se, he's just immune to everything else.Edited By Athos the Reasonably Lucid on 11/05/09 14:53 |

Ah, I think I'm missing something (again). Both Lightning (arcane) and Call Lightning (druid) are level three spells and shouldn't go though Minor GOI.
The advantage a Lightning spell (or wand) can have is that it can strike a target (or multiple targets) several times if it is cast in a small room due to the bounce effect of the lightning. Of course this can be a negative if your party is not protected from electricity.
[EDIT: Dang! Too slow again.] _________________ I've got something to say...It's better to burn out than to fade away! - The KurganEdited By silenceall on 11/05/09 14:55 |
