I wish to make Imoen a sorceress, but still want her to be able to equip shortbows. How can I do it?

Initially I hoped to make her a dualed thief/sorceress, but that doesn't seem to be possible... I thought I'd at least give her the UAI HLA so I could equip her properly, but I don't know how to do it.

Help?

ShadowKeeper would allow you to change her character into one that can use a bow for example you could change her into a Sorcerer(2)-Thief (X) but there is no legal way to make a thief-sorcerer combination in the game under the D&D rules.

Well, I know I can't legally do it. My doubt is how can I do this with SK, if I can at all? At least I didn't find any way to do it in the program's interface.

Yes, ShadowKeeper can do that and more!

Yes, if sorcerer was a mage kit that would be possible, but it's a true class... Unless I try setting the class to Sorcerer and give her a thief kit? I'll try that.

1.) It isn't possible to multi class or dual class sorcerer with anything.

2.) You cannot use shortbows on a sorcerer through shadow keeper, you can add ***** In shortbows, but it still won't let you equip one.

3.) You can use shadow keeper to dual class imoen, but you have to do it manually. Meaning first fix her starter class, then give her enough experience. Save and load it into the game, dual class her manually and then save. Now you have her dual classed in shadow keeper. And can do whatever you want with her.

Ok;
1. As far as the game is concerned sorcerer is both a class AND a kit but that is only important when you want to make strange combinations....
2. The exact steps you take to change Imoen will depend on both how far she has already advanced & what level you want her at now BUT I agree with TheFrozenWasteland suggestion to level up manually for simplicity sake i.e. start her out as a level two thief and just give her sufficient experience to level up to your required level.
3. If you still can’t work it out then I suggest up loading a save of your game with VERY CLEAR instructions of your ideal Imoen and I / we can do the editing for you.

Thanks, but I already acepted her a just a plain sorcerer. Shouldn't miss bows that much, but I just wanted to give her a feel of still being the same Imoen from before.

I AM curious about how this could actually be done, though.

As she is human I’d suggest making her Thief (2) Sorcerer (X) but you could also give her more thief levels at the cost of her spell power if you wanted her to handle more of the party’s thief needs.

Sorry if this goes against what anyone has said: you can't multiclass Sorcerers. It isn't possible to do in SK, and even if it were, the game would crash on loading.

It isn't possible to change theese classes into multi-classes or dual classes, not even with shadow keeper.

Barbarians can be modded to be dual- and multi-classable.
What keeps them from normally being able to do so is very different from what keeps sorcerers at al. from ever doing so.

it's easy, but it opens the character up to massive absue, so helps if you know the rules about sorcerors' item use otherwise.

Go into shadowkeeper and add the innate ability use any item. Set number of casts to 1 (very impotant). Add proficieny points to weapons you want to use. Load game and rest (not sure if you have to rest but sometimes things don't sho up until you do. Cast use any item.

Voila. Now your sorceror can use any item in the game, including bows. if you want, save again and go into shadow keeper and remvoe the use any item ability - you don't need it anymore because it is a permanent effect and every time you rest the use any item icon will be back in your innate skills menu which can get annoying.

And that's that.

It's much easier just to go into shadowkeeper and add it to affects.

1.) Make a thief.
2.) Level him up to 24.
3.) Take "Use Any Item"
4.) Start shadow keeper.
5.) Load up both Imoens and the thief.
6.) Go to 'Affects' on the thief, and copy the use any item ability (0x012E / Should be that one).
7.) Go into 'Affects' On imoen, then paste the ability.
8.) Add profficiensy in the weapon for which you want to use on imoen (Bow).
9.) Voila, you got use any item and can use your bow. But be warned, you can also equip any other items you want. This IS cheating, and can make her very powerful. Giving her the most powerful ability in the whole game, Which she normally should not have acces to.
