Oh, yes. I laughed 'bout the death - but this probably means viewers will know something about injury system.
I hope that people who could not pay a visit (like me) will have some sort of video... |

I just got back from Gen Con, and I was able to take time to see the demo. The footage was amazing, and i'm pumped to play the game when it comes out. The only problem was that the game crashed about half way through the demo. Fortunately they had many saved games at various points to get it rolling again. The graphics were top notch, though I'm concerned it may not run well on my computer, and there is no plan for a Mac release (so i was told). The dialog seemed to take a page out of Mass Effect (a good thing), and the voice acting was very well done. Combat flowed nicely in both active time and in strategy modes. The magic spells were my second favorite part of the demo. The use of the grease and fireball spells to cause massive damage was really cool and the lightening and blizzard spells looked gorgeous. The very last part of the demo was the best part, even though it seemed setup for dramatic purposes. A "boss fight" between the party and an ogre left all but one member of the group dead. As his health diminished, and it seemed he was going to be killed as well, a well timed press of a button triggered a death blow. The character leaped onto the ogre and drove his sword into its neck, and as it fell he stabbed it in the face. Everyone in the room cheered, even my girlfriend, who i drug in unwillingly. By the end of the demo, we were both excited to play the game when it comes out in september. Well done BioWare, and thank you for coming to GenCon. I hope they come back next year. _________________ Digger Hayes Art Director/Graphic Design Margaret Weis Productions Ltd.Edited By Deravon on 08/19/08 23:56 |

I wonder if there was something new in comparison to the previously presented trailers... |

The demo was very good. You can tell there is still work to be done, yet the quality even with months of work left is typical Bioware. I was struck by the eyes of many of the characters, typically they are lifeless but for some reason they kept drawing my attention as the moved with amazing realism.
Very nice work on the demo and look forward to more. Thanks Priestly.
PS. What ever happened to the shield? Did it go on Sunday? I never saw the winning number so I guess I should wait until everyone signs another to send to me |
