As we said in the initial thread ( Click Here ), Sega is having a contest to name an enemy alien race that will appear in Sonic Chronicles: the Dark Brotherhood.
In the initial thread we asked everyone for their suggestions on what the name of the enemy race should be. We had a ton of excellent suggestions come in, but Randall and I have finally (after much fighting and arguing over which we liked best) come up with a list of the 10 names we want you all to pick from
Here is the list to choose from: Dusk Krax Nycto Skuros Maldem Biox Azonami Braxx Gravitos Nascent
To vote for which name you like best, please reply in this thread and say "I think the name "X" is the best." You can add comments on why you like it, but please make it very clear which name you choose. Voting will be open until Thursday February 28 at 4pm BioWare time (Mountain Standard).
One vote per person, so check the list and vote for which name you think is best. Thanks to everyone for their great suggestions, now help us pick which name we submit as teh BioWare entry.

Wow...I'm pretty surprised by this list. With that said, at this point I've gotta say...
Dusk.
Why?
For one, Blackarms is awesome Also, it seems to fit if you call some of these aliens by their full name. I mean, say Shade is part of this "new species". If you call her by her full name (like how Sonic's full name is Sonic the Hedgehog), that would make her name Shade the Dusk, and it works perfectly! Since other names like "Enigma", "Phrictora", and such were rejected, I really hope this one wins.
Besides, Blackarms deserves this, he's one of the most hardcore Sonic fans out there.Edited By EXshad on 02/25/08 20:49 |

Azonami gets my vote, if applicable, for not sounding like a cliche stringing-together of random letters. _________________ It really is that simple. |

I'd have to vote for Dusk. It's a very simple and cool name that flows with the Sonic series(in my opinion). =) |

Has to be "The Dusk" It short and simple and it's the only one that fits with the Sonic Series. |

This is a pretty tough match up. I think "Dusk" is the best of of the competitors. (The way it's going right now, Dusk will win by a landslide)Edited By Vorkineth on 02/25/08 22:57 |

O_O Wow. Nycto made it. Well...Dusk seems like it's going to win. I'll just choose Nycto for the heck of it. |

There is PLENTY of time for voting yet. Don't assume that just because one choice has a few early votes that your choice is any less important.
Always choose what you want to choose, then worry about what happens later.

There's no doubt in my mind that The Dusk sound the best so that's my pick! _________________ "A delayed game is eventually good, a bad game is bad forever" |

Always choose what you want to choose, then worry about what happens later. I'm not really all that worried. Most of those names are pretty good anyway (especially Dusk). So, I wouldn't be disappointed whoever the winner is. I'll take back my vote (meaning I won't vote for "Nycto" and just wait for the result and not vote for anyone).Edited By Acell Hyram on 02/26/08 00:33 |

I like Gravitos.
Aside from the fact that it's one I suggested, there are many reasons why I think it's best:
1. It has a menacing sound to it. Whoever the Gravitos are, you know they're up to no good.
2. "Gravitos" gives the writers options for what the species is like. It could convincingly refer to a cabal of stout, slow-moving thugs, a swarm of gravity-defying creatures, or a high-tech species who use gravity/magnetic based weapons; the choice is endless.
3. The root word is clearly gravity, much of which would be a hindrance to Sonic. Playing around with the gravity would make for some interesting levels in the game.
4. It has just the right amount of comic-book campiness, which lends itself well to the Sonic universe.Edited By wickedgenius on 02/26/08 01:55 |
