Sega is having a contest to name an enemy alien race that will appear in Sonic Chronicles: the Dark Brotherhood. This is your opportunity to create part of Sonic History.

I think names that sound like something that would hinder Sonic's abilities would be most appropriate. Here is my idea.

Well I made a post already but was then asked to log in again, and so I did. Only my post never made it 
To sum it up, I think it'd be nice to know something about what the alien race looks like, their methods and their type of civilization.
But...
Sonic has battled those who lust after the Chaos emeralds and even used the power they provide himself..the origin of these powerful artifacts has largely remained a mystery...
"The Chaosium" (entry no.1) may provide some insights.
The race known as "Kynetix" (entry no.2) might use their innate abilities to slow down the quick footed rodent. (I liked the reference to friction made by another poster).
Finally something a little more light hearted:

it's hard to say a name without seeing anything about them, but i like the possibility of including a name from a past bioware game. the reapers for example-inspired from Mass Effect
Another idea that i had would be to use the an antonym of death. I like the Nascent. Nascent means beginning to develop and it might be a little easter egg for those devoted fans.
So what i've got is:

Nascent
