Update 1.68 for Neverwinter Nights and the NWN Expansions is now available. Get the update automatically through the in-game updater, or download it from the NWN support area. 1.68 contains visible cloaks and scripting updates.

Just to add

Brian "ThriKreen" Chung and I are working on a template and tutorial so that peeps can make more versions of the knight cloaks with other gods and symbols. Helm, Torm, Cyric, and Dragon were included in the patch but I've already gotten several requests for various other gods.

I haven't had a chance to update yet to see it for myself, but this is really cool. To verify - if I equip my Cloak of Protection +2, it will now appear?

Just a note
Pre-existing cloaks will default to one of the models and tan color. You can dye them tho with dye pots. And there is was a how to script and craft the cloaks to different models posted in the beta 3 comments thread by John Bye (near end of thread) I hope this link works.

New cloaks you can edit to which ever model you prefer and set up any colors you like. If they are from the standard palette they should be preset to some colors and models other than random beige. If you have any custom palette cloaks you created - you'll need to edit their appearance and update your placed items and stores.

Ah good... we were discussing the possibility of dye on the default cloaks in the PRC irc channel but weren't sure it would work.

I updated last night and now I can't get into multiplayer. It locks up when I click on Join Internet Game. Any advice?

Yes, is there a way to make the cloaks invisble again if we don't want them shown? Most cloaks don't match the rest of the armors *laughs*

The servers I play on haven't upgraded to 1.68 yet and use CEP which already has visible cloaks. Is there a difference between the cloaks in the patch and CEP and are there known or potential issues with having a CEP cloak added to the character's clothing and a 1.68 patch cloak equipped?

If cloaks don't match (most pre-existing ones won't right off) you can just dye them with dye pots to match. And even shift the model around. A tailor is a nifty way to offer this sort of crafting to players.

If you character equips a cloak it should be visible. In fact I think I see peeps wanting visible boots, gloves, rings... for NWN2
I seriously doubt there will be a "not visible" option...in fact in all other 3d games with cloaks - you equip it you see it and they don't usually have dye options to make it match either - so infact NWN is ahead that way.

you can always go back to the old way tho *shudders* and lets it go...

This probably falls under the category of"if it ain't broke don't fix it". When I play around with the new cloaks in the city interior tileset, they are worn around the character's head.

However, they appear normally in the game. Is this an issue?
