I've been wondering what people's thoughts on BioWare making a game for the DS would be?
I, myself, would like that. |

There are quite a few rumours about a portable xbox coming soon, so I'd rather see a few BioWare games for that one. |

I doubt its existance heavily, at least for this handheld generation. |

All because of a simple survey question. Comments are everywhere! Viral marketing at it's best. and
Anyway, I'm not really caring about handheld versions of anything, let alone a BioWare game, but I have no problems if Bio want to go that route. Would be nice to spread some RPG lovin' to the mobile casual user. _________________ And I find it kind of funny, I find it kind of sad These dreams in which I'm dying, are the best I've ever had |

Simple survey question? I must have missed it. I was just asking since I own a DS and they don't really have many good RPGs and I was wondering if anyone else would want a BioWare game on there, or another handheld. |

BTW - I enjoy getting surveys; really. I even like the ones in which I do not like the product or idea being discussed, like playing console or hand-held games.
However, when there is a contest in which dreams, hopes, and happy-filled warm, fuzzy moments are involved, and the that the winner is to be contacted by email, perhaps another time for sending such depressing, heart-breaking questionaires could be done, eh? _________________ Elhanan the Ancient One

Sorry 'bout that, then. I had assumed since discussion around the topic has been popping up, it seems, in every game-related forum that I visit that this was just another, especially since the survey was sent out by BioWare and you were posting on a BioWare board.
Yep, Bio apparantly sent out a survey recently that discussed handhelds and asked for opinions on whether folks would like to see Bio RPGs on them. I didn't see the survey myself, but some folks have been posting bits of it for discussion in various places. _________________ And I find it kind of funny, I find it kind of sad These dreams in which I'm dying, are the best I've ever had |

I would love for BioWare to come out with some RPG's for the Nintendo DS. Two screens and turn based encounters with a good story would be a dream come true, for me anyway. The Japanese RPG's are to cutsey for me but they are pretty much all that there is so I will play them. Doh! Can't speak for the PSP owners but I'm sure there are alot of people who own one that would like some good RPG action. Thanks for bringing up the topic. Hopefully BioWare will give us portable owners some love. |

I don't think that an RPG would work on the DS, but if they do something like that, I just hope they don't take resources away from any other areas in order to do it. RPGs are for PCs.
I wouldn't want them to start releasing proper games for PCs further apart in order to get DS games in there as well. |

Bioware with Nintendo? Yes, please.
But on the DS? No. I'd prefer that they didn't waste the time. |

^I second that. There's something special about imagining my two favourite devolopers working together. Don't really know how, but it sure would be nice.
And I can't really imagine a BG on DS either. Wait for the Wii

Psst... Bio is on it's third RPG for consoles, and is commited to at least two more |

Good point. I was only thinking of the tiny little DS screens. Well then, RPGs are for decent-sized screens. |

I wouldn't think so, the screens don't matter. They don't have to be big just to enjoy a game. I was thinking that it could work better since theres the touch screen so you could go through menus that way among other things, and so you wouldn't need all the buttons like you would for a PC or console RPG. |

DS would be ideal for ports of baldurs gate series. The interface is made for such kind of games. I hope such kind of rpgs will ever hit consoles/handhelds. So far I haven't played anything with the same kind of dept as baldurs gate on a console. Even the KoTOR games were less deep, even though they were great.
Anyway. I have no clue how much work it is to port games as baldurs gate, but considering Square-enix is doing it constantly, it must have a good labor/profit relation. And it'd make many gamers very happy... |

Size, size, size. It's always about size. Honestly when I'm travelling or stuck somewhere bored to death it's my little DS to the rescue. With the touch screen and a little creativity by who ever ported Baldurs Gate to the system. It could be an awesome experience. Top screen for close up view of characters and bottom screen for area map surrounded by convenient mapable quick buttons. In the middle of a battle and the boss or teacher comes in, Doh! No problem close the lid and everything is suspended until you open it again. Genius. Please, will some developer take a chance and port something of the same caliber and style of play as Baldurs Gate to the DS. Please, please, please! |
