I'm not surprised but still sad to see it anyway. And to what extent? Can you be more specific?Edited By Calgacus on 12/28/05 19:12 |

Some quotes that I found interesting...
Quote: Posted by Rob Bartel Patch 1.67 is real and will likely be entering beta in January. ... Well, we’re almost ready to release Patch 1.67 and it’s the biggest batch of content we’ve ever released outside of the expansion packs. There are a ton of exciting new functions and features that the dev teams needed for our next wave of premium modules and we’re also putting the finishing touches on all of the Pirates art content to ensure that it’s usable by the mod community. ... The only thing that didn’t fit was the two tilesets, which we’ll release as free hakpaks available from our site.
Quote: Posted by Rob Bartel We have a number of new premium NWN modules in the works, both internally and externally. The first of them will be coming up early in the New Year with more to follow in its wake. I can’t talk too much about it quite yet except to say that it’s another systems-driven module like Pirates and will introduce a bunch of additional new content and exciting gameplay ideas.

Well maybe I shouldn't put words into the dev's mouths, but to the extent that NWN2 will be avaliable, and there may still be premium modules introduced shortly after NWN2's release, but not for much longer after that. Likely a corrosponding drop-off in terms of patch development efforts as well.
I did find it interesting that they are negotiating with Obsidian to develop modules for NWN2 though, and that would certainly be far more lucrative than continuing to develop NWN1 modules, if they can make it work. The issue of how this could support new patches is a potentially thornier one though. _________________ NWN Restoration - The Original Interface |

Maybe patch in some malware, it'll take Derek French a long time to go from customer to customer uninstalling NWN and smashing the install disks after all (it'd be like anti-Santa!) |

I guess this is where dial-up users start looking for a new game. |

Where did that quote come from? The article in no way indicates that 2006 will be the last year of NWN(1) support.
And just to have it sait: NWN is still a great game! |

At the very end? Interpret it how you like, but it's definitely in there. _________________ NWN Restoration - The Original InterfaceEdited By FoxBat on 12/31/05 19:20 |
