This week we sit down and chat about the opening of longtime community member UO Abigail's latest project, the persistent world of Ambrosia, which features extensive custom scripting.

The link to the Ambrosia PW website doesn't seem to work for me. Is this right?

Hail and well met!

I think the website ISp is having difficulties.. this happens occasionally. The server admin of the site will likely get it back up and working sometime later today. (Thursday)

Peace

I'm very interested in playing in a "Persistent World", but what exactly is the difference between a PW and any other game? (I'm kinda new, so please clue me in!)

Thanks

Slight tech problem with the web server, but all is back online.

A PW is a module which runs as close to 24/7 as possible. What you do 'today' ingame stays done 'tomorrow' ingame.. therefore allowing you to progress forward in the game either in character development, storyline, wealth appropriation, etc.

An example.. suppose you find a nice plot of land to plant a garden.. you come back tomorrow to play again and the garden (or at least that part of it that others do not gather while you are offline) is still there.. waiting for you to harvest.

In a PW most resources/encounters/quests/etc etc will 'respawn' after a set period of time to allow others to benefit from them even after you have personally completed them or used/gathered them as the case may be.

Also, a PW generally has a larger population than a DM-hosted weekly game.. (tho this is not always the case.. many PW's are sorely in need of players)

All in all though, the gameplay is quite addictive in PW's as you can actually develop goals ingame for your characters and spend alot of energy working toward those goals.. be they combat-related, craft-related, or even RP-related.

We look forward to seeing all newcommers ingame

Peace

atm i have the population set at /20 tho, as it gets busy, i plan to raise this, as appropriate to a max, around 32 yes.
