I am not sure if this has been discussed previously, so forgive me if that is the case. But this edition is all on DVD-ROM, correct? I already own Neverwinter Nights and all the expansions...but this might be worth getting if thats the case...been looking to get a second copy for a local LAN module. |

I also owned NwN and SoU, but I bought the diamond pack anyway. I had hoped to get an all-in-one manual by doing so but there is no paper manual in the box. Also the pdf does not seem have all of the prestige classes from the expansions in it... perhaps I found the "old" pdf not the new one however.
It is interesting to note that the readme file still says "Platinum edition"

One day, probably in the year 2012, we, customers, gonna be able to play this "Premium" Mod without having to buy another "Platinum" or "Diamond" or "Whatever" package, OR without the virtual "bound" of : You have to be connected to play !
Bioware : poor millionnaire...
I play the game and love it, but the way Bioware make business with the premium stuff scare me for the future of their gaming philosophy.
Stay gold (sic)... sorry... Stay diamond !

Thanks for the reply, I just picked it up at my local Walmart...the odd thing I would like to point out is, that both Gamestop and EB Games did not have copies. I find that to be odd, considering those two companies sole business is in selling both PC and console games. As I stated above, I purchased this version for two reasons, it being DVD-ROM, and the fact I would like to run NWN on two computers within my network...both goals have been met...I am a sucker for the DVD format on PC games...I just fail to see the need for games to come on multiple CDs. It seems to me most computers now ship with DVD drives, thus lets stick to a superior format. |

I bought NWN and it's expansions as they were released. I bought platinum for the manual and convenience. I'll only buy diamond if I can have ALL the premium modules, including Pirates of the Sword Coast and ANY OTHER premium module that comes out afterward.
I have been a faithful customer, so level with me, when will the final word on NWN be packaged and sold? I will buy that, and nothing more until then. |

I just bought/downloaded "Witches Wake" a few weeks back. Is the version in the diamond edition different than what I just bought or is it just part of the new package? |

Will I be able to buy one copy of Diamond and then play the included premium modules on all 4 PCs on my home LAN? I already have four copies of NWN with SoU and Hordes. _________________ Egrim Rockbrother |

Man I feel like a complete idiot. I just went through a big song and dance all through september to get NWN Platinum DVD for $75 Canadian and now Diamond is sold for $30 at future shop with a 10 dollar rebate. (Smacks head against wall) |

The one in the package is the same, but doesn't require online validation everytime you start/load the module. Same with Shadowguard and Kingmaker. _________________ "True glory consists in doing what deserves to be written; in writing what deserves to be read; and in so living as to make the world happier for our living in it." - Pliny the Elder |

Okay. Thanks LdyShayna. Since I don't always have access to the internet I reckon I'll go get the new release so that I'm not stuck always playing the demo. |

I was under the impression that the disc check was removed with the most recent patch. Upon launching the game a note comes up saying wrong disc is in the drive when the drive is empty. Am I mistaken about the disc check? |

The disc check was removed with the 1.66 patch, and you are correct, the diamond edition does check for the dvd, however I found a solution around this problem. Go onto the dvd and install the NWNEnglish1.66HotUUpdate.exe. This is the same file available for download from the NWN site. As a result, this removes the cd/dvd check that came with the diamond edition. |
