As an English instructor at a Community College in the US, I was also interested in this. I did some digging on this and managed to find the site that lists the winners for the awards in question, and eventually found this link http://ferl.becta.org.uk/display.cfm?resID=8323 which gives a brief description of the presentation for the award, which, by the way, Mr. Peake's West Nottinghamshire College did win. It also has a tab for the powerpoint presentation he created/used. There's no link to content (game files), but a quick look through the description and the powerpoint indicate that it's aimed primarily at core-level learning audiences, i.e., basic skill sets of math, english, etc.. Or so it seems to me. Note: the connection the the powerpoint took half an hour for me, on a T1 at an American college, to download.
I think it would've been nice to see bioware follow up on this, especially as the group won the award. perhaps I missed another thread somewhere, but I doubt it.Edited By Fibbergurgi on 01/31/05 22:14 |
