The newest NWN epic character builds are out! Beware the Dark Stalker, by Carl "Syrsuro" Torvik. Wherever you may run, he will hunt you down. Wherever you hide, he will search you out. Whatever defences you establish, the Dark Stalker will slip by them unseen. The second epic is the Dragon Savant, by Lockindal Linantal. Born a dwarf, walks as a dragon, with his power the Dragon Savant defends dwarves and destroys their enemies.

MAJOR Error on Dark Stalker build as reported on the web page.
It has the stat increases as CHARISMA (which is quite incorrect) rather then mostly Dex with a bit of Intelligence as it should be.

Thanks man. Good catch! I've updated the page with the correct stat increases.

Not sure about the Gnome question actually- I will leave that up to the creator. |

Actually - I just put 'optional' in for the second Favored Enemy. I don't know whether Torias made that change or Derek snuck in and changed it, but I considered the choice of second favored enemy (and to some degree the first) to be entirely up to the player - although I think that a humanoid race fits best with the concept. Gnome is as good as any I suppose.

minor typo for dragon savant, the Con is listed as 10 in the final stats, when it should be 12.
probably my fault |

Another minor typo would be spelling "learned" learnt for the Dragon build. They did that several times, but hey, I make mistakes all the time too.

Just a curiosity question ... I notice that most of the builds there are focused on melee or ranged weapon characters and not many are being developed with a wizard or sorc as the primary class.
Any reason for this ... or are those "coming soon"? |

I think the Dark Stalker is the first 'Epic Build' I like. He´s not really a munchkin or PG char, he´s a good example of a char with more than 1 SD level, he´s not the typical rogue/SD(1)/assassin char, he has a story and I guess it´s the only one you can actually (role-)play.
But I have two questions:
a) More than 40 ranks in tumble are useless. Why not put at least 1 point into Disarm Trap? You won´t be very good in disarming traps but at least you 'can* traps with a DC of 20+1+2+4 = 27.
b) Your INT is 18 (+4 modifier). With just 1 rank in spellcraft you would gain a bonus of +1 on saving throws vs. spells.
So with 40 ranks 'only' in tumble, 1 rank in disarm traps and 1 rank in spellcraft you lose nothing but win at least a little bit. |
