Ok, I seem to be utterly stupid not to get NWmax running...

I DL'd the file and ran the auto-setup. The only part of documentation reads:

1. Extract the zip file to the gmax\scripts directory. You should now have a new folder called NWmax (case is not important)
2. move the file autonwmax.ms to the folder <some path>\gmax\scripts\startup\
3. start gmax

1. There is no .zip file anywhere, but there already is the NWmax folder.
2. I didn't have to move autonwmax.ms to the ..\startup path since it already was there after running the auto-setup.

When starting NWmax, the small NWmax logo appears right next to the task bar, but double-click doesn't do anything and right-click only gives me the option close. I know I did something wrong, but I can't figure out what. Any help, please?

Cheers!

Wow...does NWN ever stop get any better? CEP, official expansion packs that rules, easy tools and more of them coming up...
If they make a follow-up and make it half as good as the gaming and community is now then it would surely rock.

Sorry I don't know where you went wrong...I ran the auto setup & that was all I had to do (barring having gmax installed already) NwSnoop runs down in the systray & I have a shortcut the install placed on my desktop & all seems to run fine. Sorry I can't be of any help. Maybe one of the DLA guys can help ya out.

Ah, yes, it's slightly out of date, back to when it didn't have the auto installer.

It should also start gMax up at the same time.

When installing NWmax I presume you alreayd have gmax installed.

On some systems it can't (for some reason) find gmax. The you need to manually select where you have gmax installed.

No IF you don't have gmax OR 3ds max on your machine then you wont get very far. NWmax runs within these applications. Note: there is a different installer for gmax and max. The max installer will work for max 5.x and 6. If you are running max 5.x you will need to manually change the target install directory to be your max 5.x directory.

Cheers,
Joco.

The simple answer is : NWmax.
If you have access to 3dsMax, use it with NWmax,
if not, use NWmax + Gmax.
MDL-Suite been a nice tool before Bioware released
Aura Export, but ever since then it's been dead to me.
It is buggy, unreliable and doesn't suport most of
the advanced features available.
With the release of NWmax the final shovel of soil
has been put onto it's grave.

But this should be rather solved on the CustomContent
Board or at the NWmax Boards over at DLA

Grrrr. Requires Win2K? Regrettably, a somewhat significant part of the proletariate is still running Win9x, myself included

On a related note: I'd like to apologise for the somewhat stalled state of NeverBlender. Been busy with studies, and there's no other people besides me who do active development on NeverBlender. And my problem is that I absolutely suck at low-poly modelling myself. Help would be appreciated. I do hope that I get to tackle the animation support shortly

NWmax for gmax will run under Win ME, but not 95/98/98SE.

Just a short claification. You can run the NWmax scripts within gmax under Win9x. But Snoop and the automated exporting it provides does not operate.

So you have to resort to setting the verbose export mode in nwmax.ini and doing copy paste.

This also means some of the newer smart features that Snoop is providing will not operate. e.g. auto model decompile or compile.
