Heads up berks! The City Of Doors Initiative, "Foundation", is almost here. We tracked canny CODI team leader Papermonk down in his birdcage and got the latest chant about the project before he could wriggle away and give us the laugh. CODI is all about bringing the revered Planescape setting to NWN, and if you're not barmy, you'll check it out. If you are barmy, drop me a note 'cause I got some prime Gehenna real estate if you've got the jink!

Look's like I dusted off the old Planescape: Torment just in time!
Now I can get myself in the mood, brush up on the Cant.

Yup- this is why I opened with "The last time we spoke with you was April of last year. How has the year progressed for CODI?" to indicate when the last time we had released some info about this huge project. |

quick questions if any CODI people stop by:
1. what's the estimated play time for foundations?
2. are Aasimar and Tiefling among the new races? hope so...
3. Did you ever end up replacing the sickle with falchion so that we can use falchion with full feat support in codi modules? |

Heh.... 1) I think 5-10 hours. It's REALLY hard to tell until we start playtesting it with all the subquests. There's a lot to do.
2) Yes, but no new model for aasimar. I mean, they look human and with the pallette and if you use the CODI CC you can pick wings and such.
3) Er.. no. Though, I certainly thought about you when I made the decision.
Essentially, combat just doesn't feature enough in the module to make it very worthwhile. Especially since if you do pick a character that does that you won't be able to use 'em anywhere else. And we more or less made a decision to try to keep PC's moveable as possible as far as not modifying things they can't take and leave (except for Prc's.. but there really aren't those in Foundations, either)

cool
they've got human male and female aasimar heads, so we are fine there... and whack on some Angelic wings and you are all set

your reasoning sounds cool... look forwards to it!
I actually remember PS:T, being annoyed when there was combat (not just cause it was buggy!) but because it interupted the cool dialogues and quests I was following... if you guys/gals can even approach that, I will be in awe |

also, I'd love to see magazines putting NWN community made stuff on cover disks...
or at least doing reviews of stuff like codi / dla / penultima (rerolled) / shadowlords-dreamcatch-demon...
it'd be cool to see the later 2 repackaged in an all in one setup, instead of over a dozen individual downloads... hmmm, might suggest that at nwvault some day |
