Filmed from the Tokyo Game Show demo, check out some actual footage of Jade Empire in action! Part 1 focuses on the roleplaying and exploration aspects of the game, Part 2 takes a look at some of the stylish combat you will experience in Jade Empire.

Despite not being an actual RPG, this looks mighty awesome. Hell it might even get me to buy an XBox. |

Good god this game looks excellent. The graphics are amazing!
I doubt I'll ever get a chance to play it(I dont own an Xbox, and don't plan on buying one)., but hopefully this is how Bioware's undisclosed PC RPG will look/feel.
Tek: Why isn't it really an RPG, just out of curiousity? |

Perhapes it’s time to retire the term RPG and call these sorts of games Interactive Dramas. If the game is centered around story and character development (even if a significant part of it is action-based) and if the player can play the role of a character whose decisions affect the outcome of the story (even if they are limited to the type of character or decisions they can make), then it is an Interactive Drama. It doesn’t matter how linear the game is, it doesn’t matter if the game is on PC or console, and it doesn’t matter if you interact with other human beings or just computer generated characters -- it's still an I-Drama (AKA RPG )
One thing I do hope, though, is that combat is primarily driven by character statistics and not how quickly someone can hit a button. Otherwise, it sounds like a great game. _________________ The Sunken Cemetery (Remake for NWN2) |

That is some great footage. Can't believe that the game is so far away. Looks ready to go right now. _________________ Note: Any issues with this post please email me as I may not get a chance to return.

Bioware, I know that you had your own reasons and best intentions but for me, your fan and a PC gamer, Jade Empire looks like a betrayal of your loyal PC fan-base. I know, heavy words, but to release a really great game without even a PC port... Blizzard did it too but I didn't expect it from you.
