I just managed to beat Shandalar. Can anyone tell me what level he is? Apparently he's not a "real" D&D character since google turned nothing up. I was curious though - he put up a helluva fight! |

Wait, do you mean Shandalar who gives you the Ice Island quest in Ulgoth's Beard? If so, I didn't know you had to fight him... When I finished his quest for the cloak, he just teleported away. Does he return later on in the game?
Anyway, congratulations with your victory. Seems like it was a tough fight. _________________ Opportunity makes the Thief. |

You don't have to fight him unless you try to pickpocket his goodies and fail.
Worth a try with a good buffed thief!
The problem is the hostility of everyone afterwards if you have to fight him!!Edited By wise grimwald on 10/14/09 12:18 |

Ah, I see. Back then I had little joice, because he immediately initiated a dialogue with me. Did he carry something valuable? (not that it matters anymore, but ah well...Curiosity, you know) |

Enable the cheat keys and CTRL-Q him into your party.
In my BGT installation he has 96hp and an armour class of -24. Shar Teel with a THACO of 10 was missing him with rolls of 19 so it's likely you'd only hit him with criticals. |

Hmm, seems pretty challenging... I'll try it out sometime. First I'll have to tear myself away from the awesomness of Baldur's Gate 2 (it's even more addicting than BG! Gah! ) _________________ Opportunity makes the Thief. |

I never noticed, since he usually manages to fry every single commoner in sight with his fireballs and lightning bolts until there's no one left around. _________________ Things to do today: 1) Get up 2) Survive 3) Go back to bed |

They do indeed turn hostile. The things that you can pickpocket are a few potions, scrolls of improved invisibility, malaison etc. |

Hehe... A whole village gone berserk... I had the same problem when I entered a certain house in Baldur's Gate (that big city in the game) Some kind of fighter approached me to check if my party had no evil characters in it. I think his name was Phandalyn. Well, I got some problem, because he immediately attacked Xzar back then (couldn't get myself to leave Xzar behind. I already let him level-up quite a bit and he's just too hilarious, anyway ) Everyone in the house immediately turned hostile. It was like some kind of massacre, since they were all just commoners.
Later on I just reloaded and left Xzar for a while on the upper floor when talking to Phandalyn. He then let my party go unmolested and everyone could happily go on with his life. Ah, good ol' times... _________________ Opportunity makes the Thief. |

I think that he used Ctrl Q to get him into the party, or maybe cheated in the uber sword that kills all enemies in the vicinity with one blow.
Maybe imported a character from ToB to kill him.
There's lots of easy ways to do it if you're determined and have no aversion to rule bending. |

Hehe, interesting to know! But, well, I'm kind of a Tech noob, so I don't know all the tips and tricks of the game. In fact, there is really a LOT that I don't know about Baldur's Gate! You guys certainly showed me some very interesting things! _________________ Opportunity makes the Thief. |

Oh nothing complicated like that, Anyone can get that information without much of a fuss.
1.) Shadow Keeper (For Tutu)
2.) File (Up in left corner)
3.) Open CRE file
4.) Find The Character you want, And click ok!
You can get hold of most, if not all special characters. Just need to scroll some, And you have to search for names in the right collum, The left one is purely codes. |
