Cool pictures. The Echidnas like the Nocturnes and Knuckle's clan are similar to the Saiyans of Dragon Ball Z. |

There are several similarities between the Saiyans and the Nocturnus of the Sonic series.
Both wear armour.
War like with a thirst for combat and conquest.
Both have a fairly reasonable technological base to use in their conquest.
Tyranical leader(s)
Knuckles could be looked upon as a comparison to Goku. |

Some Nocturnus, and probably many Nocturnus (like for instance Shade, Nestor or the Space Pirate), do not like war and Ix'plans!!...
And many many characters wear armours in many many series!!...
And so on... |

I am just saying that they remind me of the Saiyans, that is all. Even thought Nestor, Shade and the Space Pirates oppose IX's plans, they are just a few of their people that we are aware of who don't agree with his plans.
Also, The Argus event is comparable to Frieza destroying the Saiyan home world. Although Nocturnus was not destroyed, they were stopped because of their growing power, much like the Saiyans. I would not be surprised if Argus turned out to be something similar to Frieza.

way of Goku standing against other Saiyans. |
