Riight! I have all setted up and ready for some multiplaying.

I think it's easier to connect me via irc or MSN, and for some troubleshooting (with huge gun) it would be easier than send messages to each other via Bioware forums... So, if anyone wants to set up a game, I'm in ^_^

Cant set up one by myself due NAT. Local ISP, you know... they cant afford than just few ip's

ok.. i need help. i've pored throught THREE whole parts of the multiplayer thread.. and my eyes are blurry... and my tech unsavvy brain is fried.

ok first question: whats all this port opening and closing for? do u have to open and close ports to join games, or do you have to open and close ports so that u can HOST games? or both?

second question: isit really true that once u are behind a router, there is no hope of ever being able to host a bg2 game? please say it isnt true...

please.. some kind soul.. save my soul.. my heart aches for multiplayer bg with my pals... *sobz*

It isn't true. I use a router, thereby, always keeping the same IP address and making it easier to play MP that way. Good hunting.

The router has its own IP address that never changes. Without it, you will experience changes and to me that is not fun. Annoying to have to give new address to partners everytime you play.

Yes, I as well have poured through many threads and searches and still not found any indication of a concern of mine.

I was wondering if there's a way to play a multiplayer game, consisting of my 3 created characters, through single player mode. For some reason, my sound gets all messed up and either doesn't play or plays the last millisecond of it. Is there a way to somehow "alter" some files to allow for this?

Thank you,

Jordan

P.S. - I apologize if posting this causes you inconvenience.

Is anyone up for a game this comming weekend? And i was kinda wondering, can it be true that there is no games at all? I just checked with "The All Seeing Eye" and it found 0 servers. Please tell me my settings are wrong it would really be a shame if nobody plays BG anymore.

I try to play Multiplayer with a friend using TCP/IP.

-We both have the same version of the game
-None of us have any mod installed
-We have same framerate and cache
-I opened all the required ports on my router (my friend doesn't have any router)
-We don't have firewalls nor anti pop-up
-When one of us host the game, the other one can't connect to it

Help, anyone?

PS: Sorry about my poor english

Is your cache size 300 and your frame rate 30? I had that problem once. In configuration for difficulty levels, to the left of that screen are other options. One of them is miscellaneous. Click on that and you can set your cache size and frame rate. Make sure yours and your partners are the same. It sounds as if you have all other bases covered. Good hunting.

PS: Your English is fine. You type it better than many whose native language is English. I envy bilingual people.

This is a tough one. From what you have presented here, you and your partner should have no trouble connecting. If I had your problem, I would probably remove the game and do a full install again making sure that you and your partner both have SOA and TOB installed. That way you never have to change discs once the game is started. If that doesn't work, you can try to see if you can join me in one of my games. I will be glad to give you my permanent IP address if this interests you. Sorry I can not be of more help to you. Good hunting.

Do you have the SOA patch downloaded? If not it can be found under the support tab at the top of this page. Be sure to download SOA only. That might do it. Good hunting.
